The editing for the cancelled show at "Charlie's" is complete.
Next comes the drive back to Seattle, which won't take long, and then the last night at the Happy Palace.
I'm amazed that the movie is nearing completion. It's been one of those projects that goes on for so long that you start thinking of it as something that will just go on forever.

Today I finished adding another minute and a half of footage to the Thursday scene at "Charlie's". It's a pretty difficult sequence to edit because the situation was very complicated, but fortunately there was enough dialog to explain it all.
In one part I even used a voice-over with Jeff describing things, only to reveal later on that he's actually talking while using a urinal in a bathroom.
This week's clip didn't make it into the movie because I don't think the drama came across as thick as it was in real life. This takes place after the owner of the bar has just told the band that they aren't going to get to play, because of the "Indian Days" celebration that happens once a year. As luck would have it, during "Indian Days" they can't serve alchohol at Charlie's because it's on a reservation, as are most of the other bars in the area. The problem was, after all the hassle of driving out there, by the time they found out they weren't going to play, everyone was really ready for a good drink. But there was nowhere to go to get anything, short of driving back to a town about ninety minutes away over a mountain pass. That's what eventually happened. But in this clip, we see Chad using his powers of persuation to encourage the owner to let us leave with a few beers. This actually worked, and we left with a six-pack.

I've finished the first 1.5 minutes of Thursday, including the introduction to the debacle at "Charlie's" in Babb, Montana.
