Tonight I finished editing day three. This chapter is a little over 7 minutes long, so now the total length at the midway point is already 22 or 23 minutes, which was my original estimate for the length of the entire movie. It still looks like the final cut is going to be about 40 or 45 minutes long.

Day three also marks the point where I switched to shooting 30 frames per second. Although it looks more filmlike because of the slight motion blur, it also has less vertical resolution so there is more pixelation. For the next movie I'll probably shoot 16x9 at 60 fps and add the motion blur afterwards in Premiere. Part of the reason I was excited about making this movie in the beginning was that I knew I'd learn a ton of things like this.

Finally, Jon Simmons shows up in a clip of the week! This clip shows Jon talking to Jeff as he gets dropped off at the airport for a fast two-day trip.

This week's clip will be posted on Wednesday night. Tonight I had a hard time working on a scene where Jeff gets picked up at the airport after flying back from Chicago. The problem was that music was playing in the car the whole time, so it was difficult to cut out any time without making the music sound like it was skipping forward in time. So far this is about two and a half minutes into day three, but I might lengthen the airport scene to smooth out the editing.
